About Natural Dog Training

We envision a world where the human-dog bond is strengthened through natural training methods that empower dogs to practice self-control and maintain a calm state of mind, leading to a happier and more fulfilling life for both dogs and their human companions.

We Have One Goal

To teach dogs how to live with us

Our Methods

Natural dog training methods focus on encouraging the dog to make good choices rather than forcing specific behaviors, leading to long-term improvement in the dog’s behavior and mental wellness.

By focusing on building good habits and encouraging self-management, the dog learns to behave in a desirable way without constant instruction or commands.

Dogs trained using natural methods are more likely to trust their owners and feel safe and secure in their home environment. This leads to a reduction in anxiety, fear, and aggression in dogs, and a greater sense of confidence and trust in owners.

Our promise

We understand how frustrating it can be living with a dog that  behaves in ways you’d rather they wouldn’t.  We will listen without judgement and be as honest and transparent as possible with our recommendations, our strategies and will always take very good care of you, your family and most importantly your dog.

FOUNDER/HEAD TRAINER

The human-dog bond

Welcome to Natural Dog Training Australia! My name is Nina and I have been working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments for many years. I strongly believe that time spent training our dogs how to live with us is always well spent, as it leads to a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling relationship between dogs and their human companions.

My approach focuses on tapping into each dog’s unique personality and instincts, utilizing their inherent desire to please us and work for us. This allows for a training program that promotes self-control, calmness, and well-mannered behaviour, without relying on specific commands or harsh corrections.

My own personal dog, Brody, a Staghound, serves as a great role model for other dogs and can help develop good social skills or reduce reactivity in dogs that struggle with these issues.

Are we a good fit?

Choosing the best trainer for you and your dog is highly personal and it’s important to know your dog is in good hands. Here are a few common questions and answers to help you decide if we are a good fit

Absolutely, we’re all about using fun ways to teach new concepts, rewarding good choices and providing valuable incentives for dogs to want to do their best.

We deep dive into why a dog feels the need to behave that way then go about changing their perception, practicing alternative behaviours and rewarding dogs for making better choices

Not at all, we encourage class participation.  Because our focus is on state of mind and the human-dog bond we generally find our methods enhance other avenues of dog training like obedience, agility and dog sports
